Plane Geometry

Course Description:

If the course is taken under the Woodbury University credit option:
Credits: 3 semester credits
Prerequisite:   To be successful in this course, students should have either a year of high school Algebra l or one semester of Elementary Algebra.

This course is designed to prepare students in the understanding of two-dimensional Euclidean space, and it also meets all state requirements for the curriculum. Proofs using deductive reasoning, introduction to three dimensional space and applications of both two and three dimensional spaces are also covered in the course.

Topics include: logic and proof, congruence and similarity, properties of triangles, Polygons, circles, area and perimeter, surface area and volume.

This course is equivalent to one year of High School Plane Geometry or one semester of college level Geometry.
