Omega Math has been online since 1996, and is associated with Woodbury University and the Extension office at California Polytechnic State University. Our courses meet or exceed state and national standards.
K-12 education has lost teachers and classes in the financial crisis, making an online math education a great alternative at a much lower cost than other programs. Many of our schools have designed programs to offer their students discounted prices, costing the school little or nothing to enroll them. Your school could save 88% - 100% on your cost of textbooks!
The online courses have been proven to be more effective than on-campus classes, and have a very high success rate with many A grades. One teacher said that her students felt so good about learning math through Omega Math, that they stayed in at lunch to work on their lessons. Omega Math lessons are packed full of examples from the easiest to the most advanced levels. Interactive problems are introduced at each level so the student can make sure he/she understands the material before moving forward.
These courses have been classroom tested for over 20 years. As students have asked questions and given feedback, more examples and content have been added so that as a result, there are very few questions. Omega Math keeps the site as simple as possible so that students never find themselves overwhelmed with needless information.
On a campus, a school may have four teachers who instruct four different levels of math and some of these classes may not be full. Enrolling students in Omega Math courses enables a school the ability to have a teacher supervise a group of students working at their own levels online. One teacher can have students in Basic Math, Algebra l, Algebra ll and/or Geometry all in the same room. This is especially helpful in small schools. A teacher is able to have more students in the classroom and have more personal interaction, as Omega Math takes on the responsibility of lectures, testing and grading. Teachers no longer go home with a stack of papers to grade. Omega Math does it all!
Students can take each test, quiz and/or final twice, and Omega Math records the highest score. There is homework and a quiz for every lesson/section, a chapter test for every chapter, and a final for every course. When a student has finished the course through your school, he/she has an option to receive an official transcript through one of the California universities in which Omega Math is associated with by paying the colleges fees.
Our system is set up to deliver teacher and coordinator accounts which provide all the access needed to manage your students. Your school is charged per student, and a group discount is applied.
If you want your students to enroll themselves and pay individually, you have three options as a teacher or administrator. Your students can take courses for college credits, for continuing education units, or for noncredit. Omega Math works with Woodbury University, which will provide college credits with an official transcript, and California Polytechnic University, which will provide continuing education units with an official transcript. The noncredit choice greatly reduces the cost for the student, and Omega Math will issue a certificate of completion.
